Music education at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts

It is exciting to watch young people as they discover the adventure of the arts — and then make that adventure a lifelong journey. The arts become a journey when they are enjoyable and enriching — and that’s what we try to make them at the Philharmonic Center and the Naples Museum of Art.

The arts serve many purposes. They can be entertaining and they can be enlightening. They can be educational and they can be fun — all at once. We often see children learn new words through songs, and learn history through art. Students improve their math skills by understanding the relationships among notes in a piece of music. We have been able to teach literacy through the arts – in ways that don’t seem like teaching. The arts help to nurture and grow the community. This is especially true with our younger audiences.

Our Lifelong Learning adult education classes are designed to present education in ways that are fresh, fun, stimulating, enlightening and inspiring. Many classes feature hands-on instruction from world-renowned experts in their fields.

We hope that you and your family will find many opportunities to further your own adventures in the arts.

Discounted tickets for music teachers and students are available. Please contact Bonnie Thayer at bthayer@thephil.org for more information.
