Brahms – Violin Concerto
Tchaikovsky – Symphony No. 4

One of the best-loved of all symphonies is Tchaikovsky's Fourth, the composer's ode to Fate, a rich work full of gorgeous melodies, enchanting rhythms and vivid orchestrations. Another masterwork is Brahms' magisterial Violin Concerto, performed by Augustin Hadelich, 2009 winner of the Avery Fisher Career Grant award. Guest-conducting this program will be Mei-Ann Chen, the recently named music director of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and the first woman to win the Malko International Conductors Competition.
