Monica Biacchi, Assistant Principal Viola

Monica Biacchi, assistant principal viola, studied under Karen Tuttle at the Juilliard School and with Vladimir Mendelssohn at the Hague and Rotterdam conservatories. She was awarded a diploma in 1990 from Fiesole School of Music in Florence, Italy, under Maestro Piero Farulli. She attended master classes with the Tokyo String Quartet and Guarneri String Quartet. Her earlier studies took place from 1977-1987 at the Parma Conservatory, Italy, under Luigi Mazza.

Biacchi's professional experience includes the Charleston Symphony, Spoleto Festival Orchestra and Tanglewood Music Festival. She has been a member of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra since 1995.
