Aaron McCalla, Principal Tuba

Aaron McCalla studied at Southern Methodist University, the Juilliard School and the New England Conservatory. His teachers included Matthew Good, principal tuba of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Warren Deck, former principal tuba of the New York Philharmonic, and Mike Roylance of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He performed solos with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and the Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra.

McCalla played principal tuba with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Boston, Jacksonville, Albany, Vermont, Colorado and Irving symphonies, as well as the Boston Pops, Rhode Island Philharmonic and New York Philharmonic. McCalla was a Tanglewood Music Center Tuba Fellow in 2005.
